When to increase the Space Quota?

We have put up a recommended checklist for admins to go through before deciding to increase the space quota

  1. Does the Confluence server has sufficient disk space to increase the quota?

  2. Has the trash in the space been emptied to free up some space?

  3. Are there any ultra large attachments uploaded in the space which should be deleted?

  4. What are the types of files that are consuming most of the disk space? Should those file types be blocked from future uploads?

  5. Is there a lot of historical versions of the attachments in the space?
If All versions are >10 times of the Current versions, then the users may be doing excessive versioning.

  6. Does the purpose or usage of this Confluence space justify to have a quota higher than the default space quota?
